Swim Lessons
& Water Safety Classes
The Clubhouse partners with swim academies and insured instructors to accommodate for members to select a lesson schedule that works for them.
Swim lessons and water safety classes are generally offered in group format, so members get the benefit of meeting other families and learning together.
Members do not need a pool access pass to take lessons through The Clubhouse or to attend a water safety class (a standard membership is all that is needed).
Gullah Swim Academy
Gullah Swim Academy wants you and your family* to learn to swim. They will help you overcome past experiences, build a relationship with the water, and decrease the staggering statistics of drowning in minority populations. This summer we are excited to have them coming all the way up from the Charleston area to serve The Clubhouse families.
Instructors from Gullah Swim Academy will host lessons at The Clubhouse for members during these dates for Summer 2025:
Session 1: June 3, 10, 17 and 24
Session 2: July 8, 15, 22, and 29
A full session of lessons will be 4 classes over 4 weeks with 30 minutes of instruction at each class. The classes will be given for learners at both beginner and intermediate levels. The cost is $80 for each session and you may register for one session or both.
The classes will be held from 9am-1pm and the time of your specific class will be determined based on the number of participants registered, so we ask you to please be flexible with your schedule (confirmed times will be sent out June 1 & 2) and register by May 31st to be included.
If you are already a member of The Clubhouse and are ready to register for session 1 with Gullah Swim Academy, please visit https://www.gullahswim.com/registration and select “Holly Hill Community Swim Lessons June 2025”
If you are not a current member of The Clubhouse, consider a standard membership which will last for a full year and give you access to swim lessons and other classes, exclusive events, and the option to rent spaces.
SAFE KIDS Charleston
Safe Kids Charleston Area is led by Medical University Hospital Authority (MUSC Children's Health), which provides dedicated and caring staff, operation support and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping your kids safe around water.
This coalition will partner with The Clubhouse this summer to host a FREE water safety class on Sunday May 25, 2025 at 2pm in the function room of The Clubhouse.
This class is for anyone wanting to keep their family safe around the water, even if they do not know how to swim. We encourage families to attend this class together, as it will be engaging for all. Spaces are limited, so register today.
This class is for both members and non-members.
Content Warning: You will see a live demonstration of a “silent drown” and instructors may cover real stories of accidental deaths.
